Diyaluma Falls (Skein of water)

Diyaluma Waterfall is Sri Lankan No 1: most beautiful waterfall and which is situated at Koslanda. Koslanda is situated between Beragala and Wellawaya. Beragala junction is situated in Badulla - Colombo main road and apart from that there is another way to Diyaluma waterfall via Poonagala from Bandarawela. Poonagala place is very famous to tea estates and Tamil people. Diyaluma waterfall is Third highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is high about 171m. Visit Diyaluma is very easy because Diyaluma waterfall is at main road. Most tourists are like very much to visit this waterfall.

Diyaluma is said Sri Lankan no 1 and most beautiful waterfall because it’s various qualities. This waterfall is very high and high capacity of water come from the top. Then water hits the rock millions of times and water way breaks many times. Mix with wind the waterfall like angel.

Dunhida falls

This fall is steeped in history. According to IJD Borger in his book Ceylon Today 6 (1957), the area was once inhabited by indigenous people - the Vedda tribe. During the time of King Rajasinhe, a giant fern became stuck at the top of the fall, between two mountains. This acted as a dam, which resulted in the flooding of Badulla town. Seeing the gravity of the situation, the king entrusted the task of clearing the sluice to a person named 'Ranhavadidaraya'. After toiling for three months he managed to clear the water and the town re-emerged.The fern was swept away but got stuck again at a place now known as Pusselawa ('pus' meaning fern). It was the first fall on the island where a fee was introduced to view it. This applies to both native and foreign visitors. On the approach to the fall, there are a large number of unauthorized pitches put up by traders. Visitors who patronize these stalls often carelessly throw away rejected food, polythene and other refuse on the site surrounding the fall. To aggravate the problem, illicit logging is carried out in the reserve causing an environmental nightmare. Urgent conservational measures are required.

Dunhinda Falls is 5km from Badulla town and from the main highway it is a tortuous 1km walk. The Ella rest-house is 29km away.

Bambarakanda falls

Travel to this place is not easy than other waterfalls of Sri Lanka because this fall is not at near the main road. If you want to travel this there are two ways. But one of them is not good and other one is good. First you come to Kalupahana which is situated on the Balangoda-Haputale road. And turn Udaweria side from Kalupahana junction and come 5 kilometers along that way and you can meet Bambarakanda waterfall. Another way is come from Horton plains or Ohiya. There is 15 km from Ohiya to Bambarakanda falls.

When you travel from Ohiya place first you meet nice tea estate called Udaweria Estate. It's very nice and then you can visit a place which you can visit nice sceneries from it. On clear days you can see long gaps and long distance of area. Some had seen sea also. Sometimes you may not believe it but that's true. You have to visit another place to visit. It called hill safari. You can go on a Safari with there. It is a lodge and there are 4 km from Ohiya to it. In evening you can see only mist.

To travel to Bambarakanda falls from Ohiya is not easy. Because that way is somewhat damaged. The main access to the falls is along a minor but mortable road via Haputale and Kalupahana. Kalupahana is 22 km from Balangoda or 32 km from Wellawaya. From kalupahana proceeding 3 km along a narrow road through Weerakoongama you come to the gorgeous waterfall.

But when you go there in this way definitely you can’t believe your eyes. Before travel that way first you should find four wheel vehicles. Near the Bambarakanda falls there is another fall. It's also beautiful.

Dhuwili Waterfall

Duwiliella is a very famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka and meaning of Duwili is dust. Therefore several waterfalls of Sri Lanka is identified as Duwiliella. This Dhuwili Ella fall is situated at Sinharaja world heritage rain forest of Sri Lanka. Way to this waterfall is at Deniyaya - Pitadeniya entrance of southern province of Sri Lanka. Other Dhuwili falls of Sri Lanka are very beautiful. One of Dhuwili waterfall is situated at Kaltota - Balangoda from 27 km from Balangoda town to Rajawaka road. Wanaspathi tale drama is shoot at close to this fall. And also another Dhuwili waterfall at Neluwa area of Galle Sri Lanka. Sinharaja has not only Dhuwili waterfall but also Kekuna falls, Pathnoya falls, Malmora falls, Brahmana falls, Galdoru falls, Uran Weyuna falls, Thattu falls and several falls.

You can visit this falls and you have to reside in Sinharaja at Sinharaja conservation center of Pitadeniya.

St.clair is a very beautiful place. This waterfall has large amount of water. Therefore it increases demand and beauty of this waterfall. St.clair is a western name. Before 1948 AD Sri Lanka was govern by British government. They used to grow tea in upcountry lands and export it to UK. In that time they hippies about this waterfall and place the name like this. Many places of This region have nice and big tea estates. Thalawakele, Dayagama, Hatton, Great western, Hillwood, Blackwood, Horton plains, and various tea factories. You can visit these tea factories as well. Tamil workers are work in tea estates. These workers have political party called Sri Lanka workers congress and it's controlled by Mr. Thondaman.

Thalawakele has nice railway station and special points are also at there. Thalawakele rail way is narrow road and in little distance train travels up to several kilometers. St.clair is at closed to the main road and railway.

Bopath Ella (Bo-leaf fall)

The name Bo path Ella derives from it’s perfectly heart shaped head, much like the leaf of the sacred bo tree. Bopathella waterfall is Somewhat beautiful waterfall of Sri Lanka which is at Rathnapura District and Agalawaththa vilage. This waterfall is about 30 Meters of height. There are 85 kilometers to this waterfall from Colombo.

This waterfall has secret and legacy stories. This is most famous and most beautiful waterfalls of Rathnapura district. It is one of the favorite’s picnic spot of Sri Lankans due to its proximity to the city of Colombo. just 15 km from Colombo-Ratnapura road, once reached the Higashena junction, and then branches off to the Agalawatta road and from there it’s only a few minutes.

Nalagana Falls

Springing from the Ritigaha Oya reservoir, the Nalangana Falls comprises a number of chutes, each measuring about 40m in height. The fall is situated at Dedugala, 9km east of Bulathkohupitiya. The nearest town is Bulathkohupitiya, and the Kitulgala rest-house is 41km away.
